Evolution in Laravel versions – Laravel 5.2
Evolution in Laravel versions – Laravel 5.2
Laravel… On the Go
Laravel has always been emerging every now and then. It always kept me in awe for its wonderful framework and how it has made my life as a developer easy and convenient. In the later stage, after the release of Laravel 5.1, Laravel 5.1.4 too was released with the updated feature of simple login throttling. Later, Laravel 5.1.11 was released which introduced authorization support out of the box. This feature would conveniently organize the application’s authorization logic using policy classes and would authorize actions with expressive methods.
With its change in functionality, after Laravel 5.1.11, Laravel 5.2 was released with some of its best functionalities that enable the developers to add multiple authentication driver support, implicit model binding, simplified Eloquent global scopes, opt-in authentication scaffolding, middleware groups, rate limiting middleware, array validation improvements, etc.
Some of its amazing functionalities are:
- Authentication Drivers / “Multi-Auth”: In Laravel 5.1 there were only one authentication drivers abut with this version, Laravel 5.2, multiple authenticable models or user tables, and control their authentication process separately from each other
- Authentication Scaffolding: Laravel 5.2 version provides with convenient flash speedway to scaffold the authentication views for the front end for new applications
- Implicit Model Binding: In Laravel 5.2, it has become painless for the developers to inject appropriate models directly into the route and controllers.
- Middleware groups: This function on Laravel 5.2 allows to assign several middleware to a route at once under a single convenient key
- Rate limiting: A new feature of rate limiting is been introduced in Laravel 5.2 version that allows limiting the number of requests in a particular time limit for a given IP address
- Array validation: In comparison to previous Laravel versions, In Laravel 5.2 array validation has become much easier and bug-free
- Bali validation rule: This is introduced for the first time in Laravel 5.2 version which instructs to stop validating after the failure of initial validation for the provided rule
- Eloquent Global Scope Improvements: In comparison to Laravel versions, Laravel 5.2 global query scopes only require us to implement a single and simple method.
We at OTFCoder, have prioritized Laravel Framework for all our projects for a better output. For the past 5 years, using Laravel has been great ease for me as well as my Laravel experts and we never looked back…
